Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor (Loveland, CO Location)
Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly
Our Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor assists in ensuring proper operation and/or maintenance of the Shelter’s building(s), equipment, systems and grounds (facilities). This is a working supervisory position reporting to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager. The incumbent ensures maintenance and facilities requests and needs are completed with assistance from vendors, contractors and applicable maintenance staff and/or volunteers including tasks related to janitorial, electrical, landscaping, building security and other building processes. Schedule is full-time 40 hours per week, generally Sunday through Thursday 8am-5pm, with occasional weekend, evening and emergency response hours required. Flexibility required. Requirements include an Associate’s degree in an applicable field of study OR professional work equivalent. Applicable technical certifications are a plus. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an applicable role in a comparable light commercial building. Project management experience is required. Experience providing oversight and supervision of staff or volunteers is required. Hands-on, basic building maintenance and repair experience. Experience with electronic control panels for security, lighting, HVAC and electrical a plus. Knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment and grounds keeping, basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, lighting and electrical and mechanical theories. Knowledge of maintenance safety requirements and programs and applicable OSHA requirements is a plus. Chief Veterinarian Animal Shelter (Loveland, CO Location)

We’re seeking a Chief Veterinarian who excels at shelter medicine, embraces open admission and Socially Conscious Sheltering philosophies, and is ready to use their experience and creativity to help our growing Organization reach new levels! This is a new senior leadership position reporting to the Director of Operations. Provides leadership and direction for the veterinary services departments, programs and associated staff including the veterinary clinics, shelter medicine and community-based programs, and foster and transfer programs. Oversees 15+ department employees and directly manages 5+ staff members including both Supervising and Shelter Veterinarians. Interacts closely and collaborates with the Associate Directors of Operations and Animal Control. Serves as the Organization’s medical authority and manages the health of the animal population, the surgical program and disease control protocols. Oversees the coordination of all controlled substance processes ensuring appropriate compliance with all mandates. The position does include surgical responsibilities. Must be currently licensed in the State of Colorado to practice (or obtain State license soon after hiring) and maintain certification. Minimum three (3) years of experience as an animal shelter veterinarian with substantial responsibilities for population level issues required. Two (2) years of staff supervision required. Director of Finance (Loveland, CO Location)

Reporting to the CEO, our Director of Finance is responsible for planning, directing and controlling the finance function of NOCO Humane by following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The position is open due to the incumbent’s upcoming relocation plans. The Director works closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior staff to help guide the financial operation and development of the Organization to ensure healthy and responsible fiscal activities within the context of NOCO Humane mission and goals. This includes working with members of the management team to prepare and monitor the annual budget, conducting financial analysis and preparing financial reports, developing and implementing an effective system of accounting, managing the payroll system and function, and working with the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors. The Director also manages the operation of the Licensing group including the Accounting Coordinator/Licensing Supervisor and 3.5 line staff. Serves a member of the Organization’s Senior Management Staff. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field. Supervises assigned volunteers including community service volunteers. The position includes pet end of life tasks. We’re looking for veterinarian candidates with a special desire to help shelter animals. Reporting to our Supervising Veterinarian, our Shelter Veterinarians provide examinations, veterinary care, monitoring and surgery services for shelter animals. The position additionally serves as backup for the Shelter’s Supervising Veterinarian (managing staff, shelter medicine efforts, surgery program and disease control protocols) in their absence. This position also assists with overseeing the work of contract and relief veterinarians, veterinary technicians and assistants, foster and transfer coordinators and department volunteers as required and in the absence of the Supervising Veterinarian. The position schedule is generally Sunday through Thursday and includes on-call (phone) requirements. Other duties include performing spay/neuter surgeries, dental surgeries and other surgeries on shelter animals and a limited number of owned animals. Veterinary Assistant (Evans, CO)

We are seeking applicants for a Veterinary Assistant at our Evans, CO location. The position provides clinical and administrative support for the Veterinary Services Department. Duties include restraining animals for procedures, assisting with animal surgery prep, monitoring vital signs of patients, preparing treatment areas, cleaning and sterilizing areas and equipment, administering vaccinations and medications and more. Minimum of 6 months applicable work experience in a veterinary clinic and/or animal shelter clinic or completion of a Veterinary Assistant certification or associate degree program required. Minimum of 6 months applicable direct animal handling experience required: restraining animals, cleaning cages, administering medication, etc. Previous surgical assistant experience preferred. Previous Veterinary Assistant experience a plus as is euthanasia experience. Weekly schedules are full-time (40 hrs), include a weekend shift and are subject to change due to business need. Animal Shelter Supervisor (Evans, CO)

Looking for your next growth opportunity in Animal Welfare leadership? Reporting to our Animal Shelter Manager, our Shelter Supervisors oversee our Client Services and Animal Care departments. The position generally supervises two (2) staff members directly and approximately twenty (20) staff members indirectly. This is a working supervisor position and includes performing the duties of direct reports and staff as needed. Ensures training and development of applicable staff and volunteers. Assists with annual budgeting and compliance with all Federal, State and local animal care and sheltering requirements (PACFA, DEA, OSHA). Actively participates in Shelter and supervisory meetings and serves as a backup to the Shelter Manager. Responsible for the operation of the Shelter store including inventory and ordering. The schedule for the position is five (5) days per week including one weekend day with evenings, weekends and holidays as needed and subject to change in accordance with business need. Working relationships include the Behavior and Foster teams, Veterinary Services and the Supervisor and Manager team. Requirements include a minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent applicable professional work experience. Previous animal welfare experience highly desired and preferred. Over one (1) full year of direct multi-staff supervision, or two (2) full years of multi-volunteer supervision, including hiring, scheduling, managing and evaluating performance. One (1) full year of working with the public in a customer/client focused position. Must have proven emotional intelligence, work ethic and integrity skills. Previous experience with Chameleon software, or other animal shelter software highly desired. Proven bilingual skills English/Spanish (speaking, understanding, reading and writing) is a plus and includes a pay premium. Client Services Supervisor (Evans, CO)

We’re seeking applicants for a Client Services Supervisor for our Evans, CO animal shelter location. Our Client Services Supervisors are responsible for the operations of the Shelter’s Adoption and Intake functions during a particular shift, ensuring clients receive consistent and high quality services including animal adoptions, returns, intakes, merchandise sales and more. This is a full-time, working-supervisor position with engagement in all client services tasks. The position involves daily interaction with animals in addition to providing services to clients. Animal Behavior Coordinator (Evans, CO)

Reporting to our Animal Behavior Supervisor, our Animal Behavior Coordinators serve as Shelter resources for basic animal behavior and enrichment. Responsibilities include evaluating animals for outcomes including adoption, foster care, transfer, medical attention and more. Members of our Behavior team also develop and implement programs and practices to meet the enrichment needs of companion animals including dogs, cats, small mammals, reptiles and more. There is a significant amount of animal interaction required in the job, as well as staff interaction, training and working with volunteers. Additional duties include communicating with clients through various channels and assisting with training and the creation of basic help guides. Requirements include a minimum of an Associate degree in biology, the animal sciences, animal husbandry, veterinary-technician studies, an associated field of study OR equivalent and applicable work experience in addition to a high school diploma. A minimum of over one year work experience in animal welfare OR six (6) months current experience with the Organization in an animal handling position is required.
