Shelter Veterinarian (Loveland, CO Location)

We’re looking for veterinarian candidates with a special desire to help shelter animals. Reporting to our Supervising Veterinarian, our Shelter Veterinarians provide examinations, veterinary care, monitoring and surgery services for shelter animals. Animal Shelter Supervisor (Loveland, CO Location)

Looking for your next growth opportunity in Animal Welfare leadership? Reporting to our Animal Shelter Managers, our Shelter Supervisors oversee our Client Services and Animal Care departments. The positions generally supervise two (2) to four (4) staff members directly and approximately twenty (20) to twenty five (25) staff members indirectly. These are working supervisor positions and include performing the duties of direct reports and staff as needed. Ensures training and development of applicable staff and volunteers. Assists with annual budgeting and compliance with all Federal, State and local animal care and sheltering requirements (PACFA, DEA, OSHA). Actively participates in Shelter and supervisory meetings and serves as a backup to the Shelter Managers. Responsible for the operation of the Shelter store including inventory and ordering. The schedule for these positions are five (5) days per week including one weekend day with evenings, weekends and holidays as needed and subject to change in accordance with business need. Working relationships include the Behavior and Foster teams, Veterinary Services and the Supervisor and Manager team. Requirements include a minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent applicable professional work experience. Previous animal welfare experience highly desired and preferred. Over one (1) full year of direct multi-staff supervision, or two (2) full years of multi-volunteer supervision, including hiring, scheduling, managing and evaluating performance. Animal Foster and Transfer Coordinator (Loveland, CO)

We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Foster and Transfer Coordinator for our Loveland, CO shelter location. The position is open due to an internal staff transfer. The job reports to our Supervising Veterinarian and is responsible for implementing the Shelter’s animal foster care and animal transfer programs. Primary areas of responsibility include coordination and completion of foster care appointments, response to foster volunteer needs and working with a variety of animal transfer partners. Tasks include foster care volunteer home inspections, foster volunteer recruiting, training and supervision, and coordinating the movement of animals in and out of foster care and to and from transfer partners. There is a significant amount of animal handling involved. The ability to drive a transfer van for long distances, and stay overnight at out of town locations as needed, is also a job expectation. Requirements include an Associate Degree in biology, animal behavior, animal husbandry, a related field of study or equivalent applicable work experience. Veterinary assistant or technician experience is a plus as is Chameleon software experience. Previous experience involving customer service and companion animal care and handling are required. Our Veterinary Technicians (Credentialed/Registered/Provisional) provide clinical and administrative support for our Shelter Veterinary Services Department. Shifts generally cover 7am to 7pm and are subject to change according to business need. Some overtime, holiday, evening and weekend work required. Duties include assisting with the surgical program including induction and intubation of surgery patients; monitory of patients from induction through recovery; performing dental prophy and radiographs; preparing and interpreting basic diagnostic tests; performing euthanasia as assigned; assisting with supervision and basic training of students and department volunteers and more. Additional requirements include animal care and handling experience; 21 years of age or older for insurance purposes; proficiency with intubation, IV catheter placement and IV injection techniques; strong verbal and written communication skills; proven emotional intelligence, integrity and work ethic skills and more. Animal Shelter Supervisor (Evans, CO)

Looking for your next growth opportunity in Animal Welfare leadership? Reporting to our Animal Shelter Manager, our Shelter Supervisor oversee our Client Services and Animal Care departments. The position generally supervises two (2) staff members directly and approximately twenty (20) staff members indirectly. This is a working supervisor position and includes performing the duties of direct reports and staff as needed. Ensures training and development of applicable staff and volunteers. Assists with annual budgeting and compliance with all Federal, State and local animal care and sheltering requirements (PACFA, DEA, OSHA). Actively participates in Shelter and supervisory meetings and serves as a backup to the Shelter Manager. Responsible for the operation of the Shelter store including inventory and ordering. The schedule for the position is five (5) days per week including one weekend day with evenings, weekends and holidays as needed and subject to change in accordance with business need. Working relationships include the Behavior and Foster teams, Veterinary Services and the Supervisor and Manager team. Requirements include a minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent applicable professional work experience. Previous animal welfare experience highly desired and preferred. Over one (1) full year of direct multi-staff supervision, or two (2) full years of multi-volunteer supervision, including hiring, scheduling, managing and evaluating performance. One (1) full year of working with the public in a customer/client focused position. Must have proven emotional intelligence, work ethic and integrity skills. Previous experience with Chameleon software, or other animal shelter software highly desired. Proven bilingual skills English/Spanish (speaking, understanding, reading and writing) is a plus and includes a pay premium.
