The Animal Protection and Control Lieutenant plays a key leadership role in ensuring the safety and welfare of animals and the community. As a working manager, this position combines hands-on fieldwork with administrative oversight, supervising sergeants, dispatchers, and officers to deliver consistent, high-quality service across multiple jurisdictions. The Lieutenant serves as second-in-command to the Director, providing operational leadership, guiding investigations, and overseeing specialized functions such as cruelty cases, disaster response, and dangerous animal incidents. This role is ideal for an experienced Animal Protection & Control professional who excels at leading teams, solving complex problems, and making a meaningful impact in animal welfare and public safety.
Expected hiring range is $75,000 – $82,500 annually. Closes Monday, November 24, 2025, or until closed.
Animal Protection & Control Officer (Loveland, CO Location)
Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly
Are you passionate about animal welfare and ready to make a real difference in your community? NOCO Humane is seeking a dedicated Animal Protection and Control Officer to enforce animal ordinances, assist citizens, and ensure the humane treatment of animals. In this role, you’ll investigate animal-related ordinance violations, issue warnings and summonses, respond to animal rescue calls, and maintain accurate records of daily activities. You’ll also handle domestic and wild animals in various conditions, including aggressive or injured ones, and ensure compliance with safety protocols. You’ll perform both fieldwork and dispatcher duties, assisting in coordinating calls and monitoring Officer safety.
We’re looking for someone who is 21 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED (with further education in Animal Science, Criminal Justice, or related fields a plus) and a valid Colorado driver’s license. Work experience in animal welfare or enforcement/animal control is highly desired. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus and include a wage premium. You must be able to handle animals of all temperaments and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in all weather conditions. This full-time role requires flexibility, including weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts. Work schedules are generally 4×10 or 5×8, subject to business need, and include holiday and weekend shifts. Compensated on-call overnight shifts are required. Living arrangements within 30 miles of the Larimer Campus (located in Loveland, CO) is required due to on-call duties. Behavior Manager (Loveland, CO Location)

Are you a seasoned animal behavior expert ready to lead with compassion and strategy? We’re looking for a Behavior Manager to oversee our Behavior and Foster/Transfer departments across multiple campuses. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll train and mentor staff and volunteers, guide behavioral assessments, design enrichment programs, and make critical decisions to support animal welfare and successful placements. This role also collaborates closely with our Veterinary, Client Services, and Animal Care teams, as well as community partners.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), 2+ years of hands-on animal training or behavior work, certification in animal behavior (CTC, CPDT-KA, KPA-CTP, ACAAB), 2+ years direct staff supervision or 4+ years volunteer supervision, 2+ years working in a client focused position. Strong leadership experience and knowledge of positive reinforcement training, shelter operations, and behavioral assessments like SAFER or Match-Up II are key. Event Program Manager (Loveland, CO)
NOCO Humane is seeking a dynamic and organized Event Program Manager to lead the planning and execution of our signature fundraising and stewardship events, grow our Business Partnership Program, and represent the organization at key community events across Larimer and Weld Counties. This full-time role is perfect for a skilled project manager with a passion for making a difference, strong communication and relationship-building skills, and experience driving successful events.
Our ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years of event and project management experience (3+ preferred), strong customer service and communication skills (written and verbal), proven ability to manage budgets, vendors, and sponsorships, and excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities. Nonprofit and/or animal welfare experience is a plus!

Client Services Representative (Loveland, CO Location)
Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly
Are you passionate about animals and providing exceptional customer service? Our CSRs represent the organization in a professional and courteous manner and provide quality service at the shelter’s front desk. The job requires great customer service skills, both in person and over the phone, as well as a professional demeanor. Must be able to quickly learn and accurately use specialized software as well as learn and apply a wide range of policies and procedures. In this role, you’ll assist with pet adoptions, animal returns to owners and animal surrenders, you’ll educate clients on responsible pet care, and handle a variety of animals—including dogs, cats, and small mammals. You’ll also process transactions, update records, answer inquiries, and work directly with law enforcement regarding lost and stray animals. This position requires multitasking in a fast-paced environment while ensuring every client interaction is professional and compassionate.
We’re looking for someone with at least one year of customer service experience in a fast-paced setting, strong communication skills, and attention to detail. Must be 18 years of age or older and have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. You should be comfortable handling animals of all temperaments, standing for long hours, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Flexibility is key, as shifts vary and include weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime. Bilingual English/Spanish reading, writing, understanding and speaking a plus and includes a wage premium. Foster & Transfer Coordinator (Loveland, CO Location)

Are you passionate about helping animals and skilled at coordination and communication? We’re looking for a Foster & Transfer Coordinator to manage the daily operations of our foster care and animal transfer programs. You’ll recruit, train, and supervise volunteers; coordinate foster placements and animal transport (including out-of-state travel); and work closely with our veterinary and behavior teams to ensure each animal gets the care they need. The role involves handling, vaccinating, and monitoring animals.
Ideal candidates have an associate degree (or equivalent experience) in animal care or a related field, hands-on experience working with companion animals, customer services experience, and strong organizational and customer service skills. Must be 21 years of age or older, a valid Colorado driver’s license is required, and experience with animal shelter software, vet assisting, or bilingual (English/Spanish) communication is a plus.
