Every year, NOCO Humane has the honor of partnering with Animal Friends Alliance to host a Healthy Pets Clinic, helping provide free pet wellness to our community’s pets in need. Due to rising costs, we sometimes witness community members having to choose between meeting their own needs or the needs of their pets, and NOCO Humane feels that no family should ever have to face this decision. To help keep pets and people together, both organizations teamed up to visit residents at Collins Aire Mobile Home Park in Fort Collins, and provided complimentary  medical care, resources, and supplies.

The turnout was incredible! We assisted a total of 117 dogs and cats, and their families. We administered 206 vaccines, implanted 75 microchips, and scheduled 42 free of charge spay/neuter surgeries. Along with wellness care, families walked away with pet supplies such as collars, personalized engraved tags, harnesses, dog beds, cat trees, food bowls, toys, carriers, a variety of treats, and more. Additionally, we gave away more than 1,000 pounds of pet food to those facing financial constraints. And 25 of NOCO Humane’s incredible volunteers pitched in to offer support during the day and be on hand to engage with the residents and their furry friends.

To ensure our community’s pets maintain wellness throughout the season, the veterinarians and staff provided pet owners with informational handouts. From heart murmur aftercare to separation anxiety, all visitors were equipped with knowledge and guidance depending on which topic(s) their pet related to most.

One of the community members who attended the clinic wrote a note to the staff – “It meant so much to get things and lots of information about our pup Charlie and our cat Wanda. Thank you for all you do, it means the world.” We were honored to take part in this event with Animal Friends Alliance and we look forward to the next!
